Local Link
Local Link is a DRT service [drtbus] which allows passengers living in the areas where the service has been introduced to ring and book a journey, door to door, within the local area. Anyone living in the area can use the service, as there are no age or disability restrictions on users, such as apply to Ring & Ride services. There area number of these services now operating in Greater Manchester [gmpte+local link] [note: space between local and link].
“Salford Local Link” is a flexible public transport service you can use when you need it. You share the transport with other passengers to travel anywhere in your local area which now includes Ordsall, Pendleton, Weaste, Langworthy, Charlestown, Lower Broughton. It also operates to Hope Hospital, evenings and Sundays, when other bus services are not available. [salford_ll] [salford underscore small L small L].
Users can be picked up from home and take you where you want to go.
It’s ideal if you don’t have a car and want to get: to and from work; to the shops; to medical appointments at your doctor or local health centres; out and about in your local area; and connect to main bus, train and Metrolink services.
Anyone who live in the service area can use Local Link to travel to other places in the service area
The minibuses are easy to get on and off and are child buggy and wheelchair friendly. Blind or deaf people can bring their assistance dogs along also. Everybody’s welcome!
Single fare is £1.30, a return is £2.00 with concessionary fares being 60p and £1.00.
